LaVonda H. is a natural-born creative and all-around lover of the arts. Originally from Columbia, South Carolina, LaVonda attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and obtained a BA in Communications Studies.
A passionate writer since the tender age of six, she made her poetic debut in the third grade, when her mother entered her in a poetry contest at a local church, St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church in Columbia. After copping a superior award for "The Secret Garden" and honorable mention for "The Magic Place," LaVonda realized that writing granted her the opportunity to escape a motley of things that were going on in her head.
She is a gifted weaver of words, and she holds a unique ability to extract raw emotion from people and guide them as they translate their feelings into text. LaVonda adores writing as it allows her to unleash her creative fountains and manifest her purpose--to help, heal, and give hope to the broken.
LaVonda currently resides in Charlotte, North Carolina, where her blessings from God include two beautiful, gifted children who warm her heart with joy and continually remind her "why" she presses ahead boldly and unapologetically.
She is a family woman who enjoys singing, writing, dancing, and crafting. Combined with her love for music, theater, visual arts, design, and more, LaVonda still hasn't run out of space in her huge heart to house her passion for people and helping them through her poetic prowess.
